Kate has a lifelong love for all things creative, drawing inspiration from nature and personal memories. Her paintings often begin with a series of photos or preliminary sketches and at times the initial concept is completely at random. Kate paints a base layer first, followed by many free-flowing top layers building up to a beautifully textural finish. Her works often display a myriad of colour with a powerful feminine aspect. It is Kate’s imperfect, spontaneous approach that gives her style a unique twist and an interesting representation of her subject matter. Capturing reflections of light and movement with an exaggerated use of colour and large, gestural strokes.

Kate’s current collection, ‘Reflections of My Hometown’ focuses on the beauty of her coastal location and the fond memories each location holds through different stages of her life - reflected through the eye of the artist. Currently exhibiting at the Lagoons Gallery & Cafe at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens until the 28th August 2022.

Kate lives in the Northern Beaches of Mackay with her husband and three young children and devotes her life to her family and her art.
