Event Description: On Sunday 31 July 2022 the Keswick Island Art Trail was successfully launched on Keswick Island. Nine beautiful artworks were created by local artist and are installed over a 1km area from Egremont Passage to Basil Bay. Feedback was positive with kudos for the participating artists and community. Wildcat Mackay brought 40 guests over for the official launch which was a fringe event in the Mackay Festival of Arts. 65 people attended the opening with Mayor Greg Williamson officiating with the cutting of the ribbon while Lesley Kane, Brian and I assisted. Yuwibara custodians, George & Bernie Tonga, also attended and performed a smoking and Welcome to Country ceremony. If you have time, please make the trip to Keswick Island to see the art trail before it closes. More details on the website www.keswickislandarttrail.com.au. Following are some images of the day.

    Event Description:

I’m so thrilled that the RADF Green Arts grant application I submitted in February has been approved! The Keswick Island Art Trail will be a community project with Lesley Kane as the Art Director and Glenda Hobdell as mentor. I am the Project Coordinator and so looking forward to working together to create a special attraction to Keswick Island during and after the Mackay Festival of Arts.
