Growing up in Sydney gave me inspiration for my art as I looked around at the beautiful beaches, mountains and inspiring architecture.

I tried lots of things in my younger years - secretary, nurse, teacher, to name a few. After having my two daughters I started painting again and finally found my relaxation. Art takes me to another world where I can lose track of time and forget what's going on around me.

I really can't say what subject I like to paint best as I enjoy the variety art can give me. I dabble in landscapes, flowers, portraits, still life and at times even abstract. Although my preferred medium is acrylic I also enjoy oils, watercolour and coloured pencils.

I moved to Mackay 40 years ago where I have been teaching both adult and children's classes for about 30 years. I thoroughly enjoy the friendship of the people I meet as we socialise and paint. To sum up my art experience I would say it's "my place to go when I need a holiday."
