Splendour in the Textile

This month long exhibition will showcase the rich textile traditions of Japanese vintage fabrics and hand stitching, through women’s clothing and accessories, children’s clothing and a range of homewares.
Free workshops featuring the traditional “boro” hand stitching and mending will be held as well as artist talks to learn about the intricacies of Japanese vintage textiles will be offered to school groups.
“Splendour in the Textile” exhibition will be held at the Jubilee Centre, which is part of the Mackay Regional Council Complex in Gordon Street.
