BEGINNERS PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
Printbank Mackay invite you to a weekend of printmaking.
You will learn the basics of relief and intaglio printmaking in the comfort of our studio, with all materials supplied.
This workshop is for beginners, no previous printmaking experience or drawing skills are required!
Date: 5th and 6th March 2022
Time: 10am to 4pm each day
Location: Upstairs at the Old Town Hall, Sydney Street, Mackay
Program:
Day 1 you will learn about the different types of printmaking, the studio and the printing press, printmaking papers, and intaglio drypoint etching, and the process of inking your plate. You will then produce your own drypoint plates and prints.
Day 2 you will learn about relief printmaking, use and safety of tools, and produce your own prints from a lino relief plate.
Cost: $200 (discount applies for existing members)
Each participant will receive their own set of tools, plates and paper for producing their prints, 1 year of Printbank membership, and the skills to begin your printmaking journey. Coffee and tea provided. Please bring your own lunch and snacks (alternatively Sydney Street Markets and local cafes are close by).
Closed-in shoes and a face mask required. Art smock or old clothes recommended.
